Old Photographs
One of the difficulties of moving from one home to the next, other than not having enough time to pack, is deciding what to keep and what to throw out....
We are moving and I am retired, so I have the time to pack but the throwing out part is still difficult. The stray photographs that I come across are usually worth keeping. Having found a few that show a younger me has reminded me to appreciate this day in my life. Did the person in that photograph of me thirty years ago appreciate his youth and other blessings in his life? Probably not. When, if I am fortunate, and I see a photograph of myself ten years from now, will the person in the photograph have appreciated, if not their youth, but at least their good health and the other blessings in their life? Probably not.
So don’t wait ten years to see yourself in a photograph taken today. Metaphorically at least, take one today.
