My apologies for a bumpy start on Substack. I have reviewed my posts to date and I find things missing that I have written and other glitches. Hopefully my relation with Substack will improve going forward. Last time I shared a poem Xinxinming that is called Believing in Mind or Trust in Mind in english but my history with the poem was missing. My years ago I was given a book of sacred poetry from all the great religious traditions. The named of book is God Makes The Rivers To Flow written by Eknath Easwaran a college professor and spiritual teacher. Of all the wonderful poems in the book I was attracted to one in particular; Believing in Mind. At the time I could not understand very much of it but it has remained a favorite and over the years I believe that I now understand it quite well. I included a copy at the end on my last post and I apologise again because the formatting changed. The poem was written by Sengsan the third Chan (Zen ) patriarch of China and is about the blessings of practising non-duality. It is known as the oldest Chan (Zen) poem and is chanted daily all over the world. I recommend not forcing an understanding of the poem but to read it many times until the meaning begins emerge
. Non-duality is not a concept readily familiar to the western mind.
